Overview
Highland Catholic School serves the children from the Lumen Christi Community and surrounding neighborhood.
As teachers, parents, and parishoners, we form a Christ-centered faith community, fostering a spiritual growth, academic excellence, and commitment to justic in the name of Jesus.
Highland Catholic School is dedicated to: enabling children to grow in their Catholic faith in an environment where the gospel message is taught and lived; encouraging children to be thoughtful, creative, and industrious in purusing knowledge; following a curriculum which includes basic skills and higher level thinking; following a curriculum which includes basic skills and higher level thinking; creating a desire in our student to respond to the needs of others by providing meaningful opportunities to serve the community; ensuring effective education through a partnership between students, parents, and school staff; and providing a peaceful enviornment for children where respect, social justice, and reconciliation are foundational elements.
The Holy Spirit School Ministry provides a well-rounded pre-kindergarten through eighth grade education that is grounded in our Catholic tradition, imbued with a love of learning, committed to developing an individual's gifts, directed toward responsible citizenship and fostered with charity and justice in a caring Christian community.
Our curriculum focuses on educating the whole child in the realms of academic, emotional, intellectual, moral, physical, social, and spiritual growth.
It is a total education experience that occurs in stages over time, with the complete set of curriculum objectives being achieved by the end of eighth grade.
Education is the revealing, nurturing, and enhancing of an individual's talents and abilities, which he/she will be able to share as a contributing member of the community.
