Notes for Prospective Students

A good match for Sharp Academy is any student struggling to read, write or do math. We provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for students to find that one-on-one approach to help them find their confidence in learning to read. We can teach any child, any age how to read and restore their self-esteem. God doesn't make any mistakes and we teach children how He made them PERFECT just the way they are! Students must be in good standing in behavior from their previous school, have a current diagnosis of Dyslexia, or documentation of reading issues. We can help applicants update their diagnostic testing with our onsite diagnosticians. We provide a certified structured literacy program, Ascend Smarter Intervention, for students in any grade, as a regular class M-F.  We also provide learning intervention for writing and math to bring children up to grade level.  We enroll children at their intended grade level to be in class with their same age peers.  We do not retain children; we retrain them with structured classroom intervention. Our students thrive and we have a 67% college continued enrollment rate post high school graduation, with some of these students working towards a Master's or Doctorate Degree. And 37% of our students have earned their Bachelor's Degree. We teach students to trust God first, master their resources, to think independently, to be accountable and to be strong in the gifts in which God blessed them. Our campus is designed to serve students with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, ADHD, Gifted & Talented and other language processing disorders.  We are not designed to serve students with autism, FAS, NAS, ID, behavior, social, or mental disorders.  We do not offer classwork modifications, SPED services, behavior therapy, counseling, occupational or speech therapy or behavior intervention. We hope to expand education opportunities to students diagnosed with these disabilities in the future.
