St. Mark's Episcopal School opened its doors in 1960 as a preschool full of eager children.
As a parish day school of St. Mark's Episcopal Church its dream was to provide a nurturing early school.
The dream continues with a strong commitment to exemplary education which integrates the academic, physical, interpersonal, and spiritual development of its students.
Within this framework, instruction, which recognizes the propensity of children to learn, challenges children's natural enthusiasm for new discovery.
By differentiating instruction, teachers begin where the learner is and motivate students to advance themselves to their potential.
Students are encouraged, engaged, and challenged to seek depth in their experiences and utilize resources from multiple sources.

School Reviews

As a professor Rice University and mother of two young children, the academic learning environment is very important to me. I have found St. Mark's to be outstanding regarding academic rigor (many teachers are studying at the Early Literacy Leadership Academy at Rice). The school provides a good foundation for faith and the love of learning. The majority of families are dual-income, and most parents have advanced degrees. This is a great school that emphasizes intellect and faith in an unpretentious environment.
