Lancaster Montessori was founded in 1970 as a non-profit parent cooperative devoted to early childhood education through the use of the Montessori Method.
The parents of enrolled children are the owners of Lancaster Montessori, and are asked to support the activities of the school.
This support includes maintaining the building and grounds of the school, fundraising activities, providing supplies and snacks, as well as attending parent education events., social, and spiritual needs.
The Montessori Method follows the premise that children learn better when they are provided the opportunity to choose their subjects in a βprepared environment.β In this prepared non-competitive environment, children learn at their own speed, according to their own abilities.

We send our two boys here (3 & 5), and I cannot stop praising this place. They love their teacher. She is kind, respectful, and attentive but no pushover. Her German accent makes her even more endearing. The classes are small. There are 11 kids in the downstairs class. The ages are mixed, the activities are diverse and very fun. I have been blown away by what my kids have told me about and how excited they are to learn. I just cannot recommend it enough. It was the best decision for our family.
