Loudoun Country Day School Photo #2 - Community Service Projects are a big party of our school culture. Each month students focus on a different non-profit. In November, Third grade classes collect food and provide gift cards for Loudoun Hunger. Students actively participate in the process-start to finish. Their goal is to collect enough food and gift cards for 100 complete Thanksgiving dinners.
Loudoun Country Day School Photo #3 - Middle school students participate in the traditional Blue and Green Games in September after bonding in a week of activities, including using zip lines, rock climbing, and river rafting. The middle school is divided between blue and green teams throughout the year. Here they pose together after a day of outside activities.

Loudoun Country Day School Photo #5 - At Loudoun Country Day School, the Buddy Program is a cherished part of student life. Older and younger students are thoughtfully paired and connect through shared activities such as reading, art projects, and even running a cross country race together. Long after they graduate, LCDS students fondly remember the friendships and experiences shaped by this special program.
Loudoun Country Day School Photo #6 - One of the traditions at LCDS is our yearly celebration of Veterans Day, honoring our veterans and active members of the armed forces. We do a flag raising ceremony and enjoy an assembly filled with music and tributes to them.
Loudoun Country Day School Photo #7 - Music and the Arts are integral to the LCDS experience. We strive to cultivate a lifelong appreciation for art & music, beginning in Preschool. By fourth grade, students expand their music skills by selecting a band or stringed instrument while continuing their choral studies.
Loudoun Country Day School Photo #8 - Our community thrives through cherished traditions like the Kindergarten Tea. This year-end celebration brings students and their "special persons" together to honor new friendships and shared growth. With student artwork proudly displayed, it's a heartwarming morning that perfectly captures the inviting, supportive spirit that makes our school feel like home for every family.
Loudoun Country Day School Photo #9 - The Garden Lab serves as a hands-on extension of our curriculum, allowing students to see classroom lessons come to life. By planting and tending the garden, they experience science and environmental care firsthand. It's a practical outdoor space where students stay curious and learn the importance of caring for the world around them.
Loudoun Country Day School Photo #10 - Public speaking is woven into daily life to help students build confidence. This progression starts early with plays like The Very Hungry Caterpillar in Kindergarten and grows into complex performances like Macbeth in 8th grade. Projects like the 5th-grade Invention Convention further refine these skills, ensuring students become comfortable sharing their ideas clearly and capably.
Loudoun Country Day School Photo #11 - The Talent Show is a favorite tradition where students' unique personalities take center stage! Whether performing a dance, song, or magic trick, the event offers a supportive way for kids to share their passions and gain stage experience. It's a fun evening that celebrates individual creativity and helps students build confidence while their family and peers cheer them on.

Our family has had such a meaningful and positive experience at this school. Both our daughter, who currently attends, and our son, who graduated, have truly thrived in this nurturing and supportive environment. The teachers are not only dedicated to strong academics but also genuinely care about each student''s personal growth and character development. Our son left exceptionally well prepared for the challenges of high school-both academically and as a confident, responsible individual-and we are already seeing the same strong foundation being built for our daughter. The sense of community, high standards, and attention to the whole child make this school a truly special place.

We absolutely love LCDS! Not only is it a wonderful school but the community of students, families, teachers truly feels like an extension of family. Our daughter has been at LCDS for three years now and we have been so impressed with the teachers, academics and shaping the whole child. Each grade level has so many extra events throughout the year with field trips, community service projects, please touch museums, dedicated outdoor classroom spaces and so many more. She truly loves going to school every day. We are so glad we found LCDS.

Loudoun Country Day School has been a wonderful place for our son; he has flourished here. We find the faculty to be engaged and interested in each student. Our school librarian can recommend books that he enjoys. Our art teacher has encouraged creativity. Each day includes a mix of "specials" including orchestra, PE, Technology, and Spanish. We are glad to have found a school with such a well-rounded curriculum.
