Montessori American School Photo #3 - The classroom is divided into several logical areas by low open shelves, on which we see displayed an array of lovely and intriguing learning activities. They draw our attention and make most adults visiting a Montessori class long to be a child once again.

Montessori American School Photo #4 - Here a boy learns how to brush teeth properly. We teach additional practical life skills such as washing windows, buttoning shirts, tying shoelaces, shining shoes, sweeping, dusting, setting tables and more.

Montessori American School Photo #5 - Montessori students use hands-on learning materials that make abstract concepts clear and concrete. They can literally see and explore what is going on. After much practice, the child attains a meaningful knowledge of concrete numbers.

Montessori American School Photo #6 - By kindergarten, many of our students have learned the placement and names of all 50 United States. Plus they learn all 7 continents and much more about geography in general.

Montessori American School Photo #7 - 4 year old students get to participate in art enrichment class while 5 year olds get to participate in art history class to get a deeper appreciation of world renowned artists while imitating their work.

Montessori American School Photo #8 - Students ages 3-6 get to participate in Yoga. Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration, sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Yoga is a great gift to give your children.

Montessori American School Photo #9 - As early as age 2, we begin teaching our children how to speak Spanish as a second language at a time when a child is in a sensitive period of language. According to Dr. Montessori: "No child can learn to perfection as many languages as he hears spoken about him."

Montessori American School Photo #10 - For an additional fee, all of our students can take advantage of our music enrichment class. This helps your child enhance his social skills, coordination, listening and motor skills. Participating in music activities also improves learning skills and memory. Ear training, rhythmic activities, piano keyboard activities, string instruments (lap harp), rhythm instruments, music alphabets, do-re-mi's, rhythmic notation and much more!

Montessori American School is a private, bilingual preschool and kindergarten serving children ages 2-6.

Our main goal is to help our students become independent by helping them with practical life skills such as tying shoes, buttoning shirts, and pouring milk.

Our academic programs are based on the principles taught by Dr Maria Montessori and we employ only bi-lingual teachers who are all AMS certified.

We offer educational enrichment courses like Spanish as a second language, art, art history, music, and children's yoga to help shape our youngsters beyond the core curriculum that we offer. While many of our competitors have come and gone over the years, we are a mainstay and have been since 1988. Just ask the parents of the students we serve!

Best teachers, best campus. My kindergarten graduit is reading to her sister every night. I am in love with this school. Now my oldest has to move on and I can't find anything that I feel compares to the environment Mrs. Edith and staff provide.
