We are in our third year with RMS and have two children attending the school. We have been thrilled with our RMS experience. Specifically, there is a great community of engaged parents and educators working together to achieve outstanding educational outcomes. We feel that we are getting something unique and differentiated from the more standard approach to education that a lot of other independent schools offer. Moreover, our kids absolutely love going to school here! My children's enthusiasm for their school, a passion for learning, and solid academic advancement will keep us coming back to RMS year after year. Our five-and-a-half-year-old son Sam is in his second year at RMS as a P3 (kindergarten) in Ms. Gupta's class. We (my wife) did lots of research into private school options in the Richmond area, including site visits and even successful applications to other schools, and we chose RMS for its diversity, nurturing environment, and well-proven pedagogy. Sam is thriving at RMS, learning math, language, reading, geography, and science, among other subjects, beyond what I thought kindergartners were capable of, not to mention embracing what it means to be a good person and a positive part of his community. He loves going to school and talks with enthusiasm at home about his friends, teachers and the things he is learning there. We could not be happier with our decision to place Sam at RMS, and have re-enrolled him for first grade in the fall. Nothing is for everyone, but I'd encourage any parent who wants to make sure they put their child in the best educational situation for them to give RMS a hard look.
