Bala House has been the most enriching and nurturing holistic educational experience for our children. Both of our girls attended Bala House from 3 to 6 years old, and during this time they gained a fundamental understanding of language and mathematics, but they also furthered their love of the outdoors, their appreciation of other cultures and traditions, and most importantly, their roles in respecting and supporting others. Bala House is a beautiful school made up of sun-filled classrooms with strategically placed works that foster independence and educational growth. Every day the children spend a significant amount of time outside enjoying a playground that has traditional play structures, as well as a mud kitchen and more 'natural areas' where children can continue learning outside of the classroom. But even with this plethora of amazing attributes, the most remarkable thing about Bala House is the team that educates and guides the children. Each teacher and support team member at Bala House knows every child and tailors education to the individual needs of each child. They exemplify 'making learning fun' and they do so with a humbling degree of kindness, patience, and love. Bala House is THE most special place, and we are so grateful for all that it has done for our children and our family.

Our son started at Bala House Montessori as a 3-year old and has loved it since his first day. The school offers a fantastic academic curriculum, beautiful facilities and a family-oriented community that is hard to find elsewhere. The Director is warm and engaged figure who knows all the children and families. We have loved the Montessori curriculum and the beautiful learning materials in the classrooms. Weekly instruction in art, music and movement make the program a truly well-rounded experience. The school has a large field and expansive playground, which was necessary for our active son. I continue to be amazed at what he already learned as an in-coming Kindergartener. I think that is is far beyond what is being offered at other area schools. Bala House is more expensive than some local "preschool" programs but it is well worth the investment. I have also loved the frequent annual family events. It has been a great way to get to know other local parents and their children.
