Originally founded as The Hill School of Grapevine serving
students in grades K-8, Hill ceased operations in 2014 and became
What If We Could dba The Novus Academy. This change brought with it
the addition of a high school program and increased educational
opportunities for students, families, and the surrounding
communities. The Novus Academy has been a trailblazer in providing
underserved students with differentiated learning and an engaging
academic foundation. Our scope has expanded beyond learning
differences and disabilities (such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Dysgraphia,
and Autism Spectrum Disorder) to include other challenges,
including anxiety, bullying, and executive functioning deficits.
Our students simply seek an environment where they can grow,
thrive, and be accepted for who they are. Novus takes pride in
employing innovative teaching techniques that celebrate individual
differences, inspire hope, and foster positive growth and change
for our students and their families.The Novus Academy provides
resilient academic, executive functioning, and social-emotional
fundamentals for our elementary students. As students move into our
middle and high school programs, they begin to participate in
dedicated coursework to refine their foundational skills and apply
them in their daily lives. Our small student-to-teacher ratio,
committed staff, and individualized curriculum set our students up
for success. The Novus Academy utilizes staff from The Texas
Workforce Commission in providing its upper school with access to
career skills education and development. Staff also works closely
with colleges in the area to provide dual-credit options and give
students a feel for college before they graduate. Early planning is
key-and these additional supports help our high school students and
families learn about the best-fitting post-secondary options and
prepare them for life and independence after graduation.
